Trevor Fear is Lecturer and Staff Tutor in Classical Studies at the Open University. His research interests are in Roman Elegy, Latin and Greek lyric poetry, critical theory, and classics and popular culture. He has written a teaching unit for the Open University on the ancient and modern reception of Cleopatra, and before returning to the UK taught a course on Classics and Film in the US.
Anastasia Bakogianni is currently a lecturer at the Open University where she is working on a project about the reception of the classics in popular culture (1970 to the present). Previously she worked as a Research Fellow of the Institute of Classical Studies in London. Her interests include Greek Drama and its Reception, particularly Modern Greek Receptions, Women in Antiquity and Classical Mythology.
Shelley Hales teaches in the Department of Classics & Ancient History at the University of Bristol , where she is Senior Lecturer in Art & Visual Culture. She writes on Roman domestic and personal art, especially from the provinces, and its relation to identity-making in the past and present (Roman Houses & Social Identity CUP, pbk ed. 2009; Material Cultures & Social Identities in the Ancient World CUP, 2009, co-edited with Tamar Hodos). She is particularly interested in the physical reconstruction of Roman domestic buildings in the nineteenth century and is currently co-editing with Joanna Paul a volume on the reception of Pompeii (Pompeii in the Public Imagination from its Rediscovery to Today, OUP, Forthcoming) and leading a JISC funded project to build an online, virtual, interactive model of the Pompeian Court, which was part of the Sydenham Crystal Palace (http://sydenhamcrystalpalace.wordpress.com).
