Help with the cost

If you will be studying on a low income you can apply to the University's financial support scheme for help.

Students can apply for support for study costs, including a computer, via the Access to Learning Fund standard application form – available from the Financial support website. OU students can get more information by contacting the Financial Support Office.

Alternatively, you could use free open-source software that is compatible with other major office software. Find out more about Open Office or about sharing documents using Google Drive .

These are not the only options, so look out for other software discounts through shops and on the web.
