Personality

The concept of personality has been explored one way or another for centuries by philosophers, scientists and lay people. However Psychology has formed the study of personality as scientific through the use of testing. Though different perspectives have different approaches to the study of personality, for example psychoanalysis. Ideas about personality, even just within Psychology, have varied (and continue to vary) so much in relation to what we understand personality to be, how to measure it, and what it means for us and society.
